Han Solo: A Smuggler’s Trade, a fan film

In anticipation of the latest Star Wars “stand-alone” story Rogue One, here is a surprisingly fun fan made short stand alone, featuring none other than the Galaxy’s greatest scoundrel, Han Solo.

Han Solo: A Smuggler’s Trade stars Jamie Costa as Han Solo, with Corey Daniel as everyone’s favourite Wookiee Chewbacca. Playing the villain of the piece is none other than Doug Jones, famous for the many fantastical creatures he brings to life in such films as Hellboy and Pan’s Labyrinth. Quite a coup to nab him! Overall, this is a budget film with a big heart – the cinematography is top notch, the effects are quite good, and Han is, well, authentically Han. And Chewie seems to be as hapless as ever. An absolute stand out for me is the great score by Andrew Gerlicher. Here’s the synopsis, then the film.
