Gavin Rothery, concept artist and VFX supervisor on Duncan Jones’ Moon, has completed his own short film, apocalyptic psychological actioner, The Last Man.
A soldier without a war is just a man
Gavin’s synopsis states:
“The Last Man is a 20 minute apocalyptic science fiction short film inspired by cold war childhood nightmares about the end of the world. The film was shot in North London in 2013 for a budget of just over £18k. As well as directing, I also wrote, production designed and completed the 187 VFX shots (with rotoscoping assistance) on my equipment at home. Featuring the talents of Richard D. Glover (A Field in England, Into the Woods) and an original score by Charlotte Hatherley (Ash, Sylvertongue).”
Reminds me of 2000AD Futureshocks, in a good way.
