The cast and crew of Star Wars The Force Awakens grace the cover and pages of the June edition of Vanity Fair, in what has become a tradition, with iconic images captured by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz. A short video has also been released, confirming a few casting rumours in the process.

For instance, Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is shown filming a scene with motion capture dots on her face, suggesting she is indeed playing a certain small alien character, who hands Annakin’s and Luke’s original lightsabre to one of our heroes, possibly Leia (as seen in the second teaser).

Other shots reveal the kind of scavengers like Daisy Ridley’s Rey who live in the used universe environment of Jakku; confirmation that Adam Driver plays villain Kylo Ren; Gwendoline Christie is Captain Phasma; snowtroopers in action; and Oscar Isaac as “the best pilot in the frikkin’ galaxy” Poe Dameron, striking a pose.
